DIY: Stuffed Apples

Stuffed Crockpot Apples....MMM....People say these are easy and delicious, and those are two of my favorite things. I'm sure they would make an amazing dessert, but I went all fat kid on you, and made them for breakfast today.

What you will need:
6-8 Apples
Apple Corer or paring knife
1 Tbsp Cinnamon
3 Tbsp butter
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1.5 oz Raisins
1/2 cup of water
2-4 tsp of Vanilla Extract

First, wash and core your apples. Normal people have an apple corer, I however, do not. So instead, I used a paring knife which was slightly difficult but it made me feel more accomplished (who needs all ten fingers anyways right?)

Next, in a bowl, mix together your brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, raisins, and nuts. Most recipes called for walnuts or pecans but I was lazy and didn't want to go to the store so I scoured my shelves until I found a bag of almonds. Nuts are nuts right? Now, take your crockpot and put 1/2 cup of water and, 2 tsp of vanilla extract in. You can use as much vanilla as you'd like, but this was my first time making these and I didn't want vanilla overkill (if there is such a thing). Lastly, stuff the apples with your mixture and place in crockpot on low for 6-8 hours, until apples begin to cave in on themselves. If you want them sooner, you can cook them on high for 4 hours.

Your finished product should look something like this!
