I recently stumbled upon Natural House while perusing the Internet one day looking for non-toxic cleaning supplies. Natural House offers simply designed, natural household cleaning products with equally simple but cute names (Flushy, Trashy, and Sinky). They are as you would imagine for the toilet, your trash can, and sink. I just find out, and was a little too excited about it, that they now make three other products, Moppy, Surfy, and Glassy. You can find more information here and a short, fun and informative video below.
Initially I wrote to Natural House to inquire about possibly sampling their products as they are only available online (here or here) for the time being, and to let them know that I would happily review their products on our blog to help spread the word to a very "different" type of audience they may not normally reach. Yes, I referred to you, our readers as "different", deal with it. They were kind enough to send me a 30 day supply to use and review, and are also offering one of our lucky readers their own 30 day supply.
These products have been heaven sent for many reasons. As most of you know, I just bought my first house and I am pregnant. This double whammy has turned me into a cleaning freak, not to even mention that it is time for Spring cleaning. If my husband catches me cleaning he will not hesitate to tackle me (in a pregnant friendly manner of course) and wrestle the un-named chemical concoction from my hand and reminds me that we do not want our baby to have flippers. However, when using these Natural House products, I can use them when, and where I want without having to brace myself from another attack from my loved ones as these prodcuts are Eco-Friendly,Pro-biotic, Non-Toxic cleaning supplies (that actually work)! Natural House pro-biotic's creates mini-ecosystem on a microbial level that produces enzymes which break down odors, dirt, fats, oil, grease, food scraps, waste and toilet paper products on a continuous basis between applications. This creates a natural, clean, balanced environment that is safe for even the most sensitive members of your natural house, even the preggo...
Now besides all the mumbo jumbo, what do I honestly think of these products?
Flushy:
We moved into an old house with old toilets, we even had to replace one right away, and be we I mean my husband and Father-In-Law. That being said, I was always a little worried about the plumbing even though everything checked out fine during the initial inspection. I have been using these pro-biotic packets through part of February and all of March (I didn't use them as consistently as I should have, but i really didn't need to). I initially thought that I didn't notice a huge difference between Flushy and other products that shall remain unnamed UNTIL I ran out of them. Now, I feel like it doesn't smell as clean in the bathroom even when I (my husband) use(s) heavily scented cleaning agents in the loo. When I was using Flushy, the toilet flushed better, smelled better, and even looked better!
Note of advice:Make sure you let it dissolve and foam and don't do what I did at first and just flush it (well hey, it's called Flushy right?) Flushy has mad foaming skills that need to be recognized. The foam does all the work in the bowl and on the way down as well. These little packets made a believer out of me!
This by far, was my favorite of the bunch. I have a problem with trash. I don't like to touch it, look at it, or smell it. I dare say, I hate trash (even though I make a ton of it). I have used Trashy in every type of trash can you can imagine. I sprayed it in the indoor trash cans, the bathroom trash cans, the outdoor trash cans, the recycle bins, and even the King of Stench, the dreaded Diaper Genie...It eliminated ALL ODORS from these guys. For once, I can waddle around my house and not smell the lingering stench of garbage, even with my super pregnant smelling senses! It's like a little slice of odor-free Heaven. The clean scent it leaves behind is very light and airy. It doesn't mask the odors, it seriously gets rid of them, it's crazy!
Let me tell you a story about my kitchen sink. My kitchen sink was old, the plumbing was even older, however, we never got it checked out before we purchased the house but we were aware of a slight leak. From time to time this horrible odor that smelled like it came from the Bog of Eternal Stench would seep out of the sink and no matter what we put down the sink or attempted to clean it with would make the slightest bit off difference. I started using Sinky in February/March. The stench of death died down and came around less often until one day (DUN DUN DUN) we found a completely ridiculous leak flowing into the backyard. What ensued was pure chaos, an unintentional compost pile, and all new plumbing. Looking back on it, I think Sinky helped break down all the built up food and grease that had accumulated over the years in our old as dirt plumbing until it finally did the dirty deed and pushed it all out at once. So although I loath paying
plumber bills, Sinky, I begrudgingly thank you.
Now that I've gone on a crazy rant proclaiming my love for these Natural House products, here is your chance to win a 30 day supply.
