Trendy Mommy Tuesdays: vol. 12

Hey y'all, long time no trendy mommies! I just  haven't been feeling any of the celebs lately plus I have been so busy with this pregnancy and just life in general that I haven't had time to really search for inspiration. However, as Summer has officially hit my home town, out comes the flip flops and dresses everywhere I look. The bigger I get the more hot I get, and my typical jeans and t-shirts are not cutting it, not even my maxi dresses can save me from my random pregnancy heat waves this.

So what's a preggo to do ? Sadly for the general public, I have resorted to (insert theatrical music here, *dun dun dun*) short Summer dresses. If you know me at all, you know I would rather die than wear a short dress, especially in public. But, if I wear anything else, I feel like I really am dying a slow sweaty death.

Needless to say, celebrities can pull off these dresses better than I and there seems to be one favorite amongst celeb mommas...Splendid's Wildflower Dress ($118) as shown in People online on Alessandra Ambrósio, Ali Larter, and Selma Blair.

So this week's inspiration isn't so much a who as a what, the floral Summer dress! Here are a few looks for a few different body types in similar summery fun & floral prints.

The A-Line Dress:
The Floral Arrangements Dress ($50) from Mod Cloth or H&M's Floral Dress ($18), both A-line, are perfect for many body types. Generally they look great on tall gals with slender frames, and curvy, or super curvy frames. They also can be flattering on us shorter "full figured" gals, but make sure the length hits you slightly above if not at the knee.

The Asymmetrical Dress:

Piper Lime's Asymmetrical Collective Concepts Dress in Coral ($45) or Lottie & Holly Floral Dress ($43) is a great choice for hourglass shapes. Asymmetrical dresses are good for hiding large shoulders or drawing eyes downward from us top heavy women that want to look good but are tired of all the pervs. If you love your legs and want to show them off, but you don't want to wear a mini dress, this is also a great choice for you!

The Empire Waist

The empire waist is good for bottom heavy and "thick waisted" girlies. Here are a couple of cute floral dress from American Rag Strapless ($30) and American Rag's floral Brick dress ($55) both available at Macy*s. An empire waist hides the tummy area, and is a looser fit for

The Wrap Dress

The wrap dress really is flattering for all body shapes, and they even come in all prints and sizes like this ASOS floral wrap dress ($30) (also available in maternity which I love) or this Ruby Rocks frill wrap dress ($24).

So that's it for now my fellow Whore(der)s. I hope you enjoyed these dresses (all $55 and under mind you). Leave a comment below on our FB if you find any cute dresses or deals of your own to share with us!
