Times are tough, and people are pinching pennies everywhere. There are budget cuts being made left and right in the school system, affecting everything from what supplies our schools have (or don't have), to how many "in service days" are imposed in the shortened school year. Luckily, there are companies out there who still care. I have researched programs offered by five major companies, and gathered information for you readers. There are ways to donate to your local schools and you don't have to spend any additional money or buy things you wouldn't normally buy!
Box Tops for Education sponsored by General Mills
How does it work?
Clip some box tops, you know, those pointless pink squares on most of your food packages as well as many other products. You can earn boxtops when you shop online at stores like Walmart, Vans, and many other stores. You also have chances to win bonus boxtops through boxtop sweepstakes and by watching videos or taking surveys online for Ford Motor Company.
What schools can participate?
The Box Tops for Education program is available to any accredited public, private or parochial school, for grades K-8, in the United States.

How does it work?
Your school can earn $1 for every $20 fresh&easy receipt collected now through December 31, 2011. This year, every school that raises $500 or more through receipt collection will get an additional $50 bonus! Your school can raise up to $5,000 through receipt collection plus the $50 bonus for reaching $500, and is eligible for a $5,000 cash bonus from the state.
What schools can participate?
Any accredited public, private or parochial school, K-8, within a three-mile radius of a fresh&easy store may participate.

For three weeks starting on September 19th, a special redemption code will be printed at the bottom of your receipt. All you have to do is hand over your receipts to the little beggars (school children) that you can commonly find lurking outside, or return to this site between the dates of September 19th-October 13th to redeem your receipts!
What schools can participate?Any school that is "enrolled" in the program. If you cannot locate your school using the search, click on the link that reads, "enroll your school now". You will continue on to a form where you can enter all of your school and contact information!

5% Back to School Program sponsored by Office Depot
How does it work?
All you need to do is shop at Office Depot as you normally would for all of your school/office supplies. If you purchase any of these products, Office Depot will offer your school credits equal to 5% of the qualifying purchases in the form of an Office Depot Merchandise Card that can be used towards free school supplies!
What schools can participate?
Public and private schools Pre-K-8th grade can participate.

How does it work?
